Ellyn Marks
Producer and Reporter WB11 News at Ten

Ellyn Marks is the award winning producer of WB?s 11 News Close Up as well as a reporter for the CW11 News at Ten. Marks hails from the University of Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelor of arts degree, Magna Cum Laude in Russian and a Master of Arts degree in Russian Language and Literature. Marks has had extensive experience on both sides of the camera during her very successful career.

Marks was a general assignment reporter for the CW11 News at Ten since 1990, when she covered the TWA flight 800 Crash and the Central Park Jogger cases. Marks has also been an Investigative Producer for the CW11 News at Ten where she produced stories for ?Help me Howard?, a weekly segment of advocacy journalism based on viewer problems. She has also served as special projects producer when she produced the 1992 and 1996 convention coverage. Marks has also co-produced specials such as ?Schindler: the real story? and ?Son of Sam Tapes? which won the Gabriel Award for the highest achievement in excellence in public service in the art of communications in 1994, and the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association Award for best local documentary program or series in 1995, respectively.

In the array of other awards Marks has accumulated in her many years of dedicated work are the National headliner award for Outstanding Documentary in 1994, American Women in Radio and Television Commendation award for best religious programming in 1995, the Emmy Award for best political programming in 1996, the New York State Associated press Broadcasters association award for best spot news for the Crowne Heights riots, and the Associated press awards for best local documentary program and in general excellence in use of a medium.
