Chris Glorioso is an Emmy Award winning reporter who covers crime and politics for The CW11. Since his arrival in November of 2004, he has won praise for provocative reports, including an investigation into unlicensed nightclub security guards, and a series on the war readiness of Veterans Hospitals.
Glorioso began his media career in radio. While still a college undergraduate at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications, he was a reporter and anchor at WSYR-AM in Syracuse, NY. Chris transitioned to television with stints as weekend anchor and reporter in Burlington, VT and Pittsburgh, PA. Known for his creative approach to storytelling, a favorite moment for Glorioso was his around-the-clock coverage of 9 miners trapped in a Quecreek, Pennsylvania coal shaft. Chris landed the first one-on-one interview with a miner who survived the calamity.
Among his awards: an Emmy for "Spot News" coverage of 2005's devastating Upper East Side house explosion. The Associated Press has also awarded Chris 1st place honors in the categories "Breaking News" and "Best Series."
When he's not grilling a politician or gathering facts at a crime scene, you might find Glorioso in the classroom where he is an NYU adjunct professor of journalism.
Glorioso graduated with honors from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications. He also studied political philosophy at Great Britain's Oxford University. That is where he acquired his unquenchable thirst for international study and travel. Russia, Iceland, and Italy are just a few of his favorite destinations.
Glorioso is a native of Annapolis, Maryland where he returns often to visit family and friends.
